Installation Instructions
Outlook Express
- You will receive an email from E-Stationery Depot with your E-Stationery file attached.
Right click on the attachment name and select Save As.
Save the file to your Desktop or another location on your
hard drive.
We will show you how to set-up your E-Stationery as a Signature.
This will provide you with the most flexibility in using your primary E-Stationery, switching between
E-Stationery templates if you have more than one, or choosing to write a text only message.
- Please ensure you are using a newer version of Microsoft Outlook Express. Outlook Express 6 is
installed as a component of Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. You can install Internet Explorer 6 on a
computer that is running Microsoft Windows 98 or later. You can also install Internet Explorer 6 as an
upgrade to any existing version of Internet Explorer. To download version 6
- From the main Outlook Express window, on the Tools menu, click
Options, and then click the
Signatures tab.

It is important to do the following steps in the order listed.
- Click on New.
- Check the box Add signatures to all outgoing messages.
- Uncheck the box Don't add signatures to Replies and Forwards.
- Check the File button. Type in the file name of your
E-Stationery or click Browse.
- ** It is important in the Browse window to select
All files (*.*) in the Files of type drop down
menu or you will not find your E-Stationery file. Locate your E-Stationery and click on
Open.
- If you have multiple signatures, click on your E-Stationery (Signature
#1 or whatever number it is) and then click on the button
Set as Default. If you only have one signature it will be automatically selected as
the default signature.
- Click on Apply.
- Click on OK.
- Next, click on the Compose tab in the Options Window. Make sure that
under the Stationery heading the Mail box is Unchecked.

- Next, click on the Send tab in the Options Window.

- Uncheck the Reply to messages using the format in which they were sent box.
- Under Mail Sending Format click the
HTML button.
- Click HTML Settings... and
uncheck the Send pictures with messages box. Click
OK.

- Click Apply and then click OK.
- Now you need to make sure your images are being pulled
from the internet and not being attached to your email.
This can be fine tuned by following these steps...
- Click on Tools in the Main Menu of Outlook Express
- Choose Options from the drop down menu
- Select the Send tab in the Options pop-up window
- Under the Mail Sending Format section click on the
HTML radial button
- Under the Mail Sending Format section now click on the
HTML Settings... button
- Make sure there is NO check mark in the box that says...
Send pictures with messages
- Click OK
- Click OK
- SPECIAL NOTES
- The graphics on your E-Stationery may at times look like they do not
fit in boxes correctly or there is added space in different parts of the template. This is an
Outlook Express issue and it DOES correct itself when emailed. Test your E-Stationery and mail a message
to yourself to make sure it works properly. If you have any trouble please
contact us for technical support.
- If you do not want to use your E-Stationery for a particular message simply click your mouse
to the right of the E-Stationery and then press backspace once or twice and the E-Stationery
should disappear for that email.
- If you have multiple E-Stationery templates and wish to switch to a different one, just erase
the one in your window (see 6.b above), then from the top menu choose
Insert, then Signature
and choose your new
E-Stationery template.
- Outlook Express settings can interfere with placing pictures in E-Stationery templates.
Simply attach any photos you wish to send to your recipients instead of placing them in
the body of your E-Stationery template. If you are preparing an email campaign or newsletter,
E-Stationery Depot can format these complete documents for you with graphics. (see
price list for details).
- If you have a lot of pre-programmed text in your email,
Outlook Express may give you the following message...

If this occurs we can try to shorten the text or I would suggest you change your email program to
another free program called IncrediMail. Please go to the
Installation Page and from there you can
download IncrediMail and receive installation instructions for your E-Stationery.
